ORGANIC RICE
In April 2006, a F-4 tornado ripped through Braggadocio Missouri and completely destroyed Steve & Kaye’s farm headquarters. That is, the tractors, barn, farm shop, grain bins and particularly the cotton pickers. Just 1/2 miles east of McKaskle’s farm was the familys’ cotton gin which was also taken! With no cotton harvesting equipment and no family cotton gin, the McKaskles’ decided to stop growing cotton and began the transition to organic rice production. A deal was made with a small successful rice mill located in east-central Arkansas. They planted roughly 80 acres of long-grain rice that year in 2006. Today, McKaskle farms produces several hundred acres of non-GMO long-grain and Basmati rice.
Now we should fast forward to March 2010, where just a day or two after the McKaskles’ decided to market their own organic popcorn, they now realized they could do the same with their two different rice varieties.
McKaskle Family Farm LLC currently offers three rice products, organic Braggadoccio Brown Basmati and organic Braggadoccio Long-grain Brown & White Rice. Our personal favorite is the Brown Basmati! The aromatic aromas from Kaye’s kitchen and at last to taste the rich and nutty flavor! We've also added Brown Rice Flour and White Rice Flour to our family of organic rice products.
